Below are a few of my favorite movies that my students made. As the lead teaching artist for these projects, I was responsible for facilitating the brainstorming and discussion that led to the ideas for these films, as well as organizing individual jobs for each of my students and working as a production coordinator to bring their visions to life.
Each film was made over the course of one week (approximately). The first day we would learn filmmaking and animation techniques before jumping into our brainstorming session and developing a story or script. The second day was usually designated to preproduction--building costumes and sets, painting, drawing etc.--while the following two days were all production. The final day often involved an introduction to collaborative editing while I would assemble their film.
